I live outside of Minnesota, why are you charging me sales tax?
On June 21, 2018, the United States Supreme Court decided a landmark sales tax case, South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc and ruled that a state can require an out-of-state seller to collect and remit that state's sales tax on sales to customers in that state. In response to the Wayfair decision, a number of states have enacted laws and issued regulatory or administrative guidance that require out-of-state sellers that exceed a certain volume of sales in a year to charge sales tax on taxable products and services delivered to customers in their state.
All reputable retailers are complying with this law.
What does this mean for me?
If you are in a state that requires Country Cat to collect sales tax when selling into your state, we will collect the required sales tax during the checkout process.
